We went on a family vacation to California around Christmas. Most of my spare scrapbooking time since has been taken up with finishing our album and getting it bound and printed at Shutterfly. I got the book back a few weeks ago, and have been so very happy with the quality and price that I am trying to think of more things to make books out of! The slider up at the top of the blog shows the whole book in order.
Somehow I am just now getting around to doing my daughter's first grade album, but I guess I still have all summer to get it done before I get everything mixed in with second grade stuff. I made this page using Lori Imel's Full Bloom Kit at Digitals. It is really a pretty citrus feeling kit with really nice colors. I used Eight Fifteen and Genius of Crack fonts.
This page requires a little explaining. My daughter Madeline had a field trip to the Imaginarium, and I wasn't going to going to go, so I sent a disposable camera with her. She took most of these pictures, except the two with the reptiles. So I decided to see if she wanted to learn how to scrapbook them digitally, too, and she did. So last night I spent about an hour teaching her the basics of Photoshop. She did really well with it, I thought, and was able to remember most of the commands I taught her. By the end, she was selecting her layers, rotating, resizing, and positioning them like a pro (well, sort of). I really didn't do almost any of this. I thought it was pretty good for a 7-year-old. She used Atomic Cupcake's Girly Bugs Kit, Glenda Ketcham's Balloons from the Digitals Scrapbook Week Celebration Kit, Lettering Delight's Starwires font, and BinnerOutP font.
I am trying to get some of my older pictures scanned :p, and scrapped. These are some pictures from college in Oregon during some severe flooding. I made the background using brushes I found at Adobe Studio Exchange. The torn paper action is from Atomic Cupcake. Fonts are 1942 Report, Adler, and Brenton Scrawl.
This is a LO I did for the scraplift challenge at Scrapmommies. I used Sweet Holiday, Winter Dreams and Springy Step kits and Chipboard and Pewter actions from Atomic Cupcake and brushes from 8nero and Adobe Studio Exchange. Fonts are Georgia and MA Simple Pleasures. The original inspiration was a LO by Nikki at Scrapmommies. Journaling reads: After Christmas, the Conn’s went up to Granite Creek to go ice skating. Allen had been watching the creek every day on his way to work, and thought it would be fun to skate on. Unfortunately it was all bumpy by the time they got up there. They had fun exploring the ice holes, instead, though.
This is my calendar page for next January. Even though we live in Alaska, my husband (and I, I must admit) are huge Broncos fans. John's year isn't complete unless he's been to at least one game. This year we got to do 2 - both playoff games. The first (against the Patriots was great. The second was Pittsburgh, and that didn't go so well... Anyway, we are usually thinking football around January, so I thought this would be a good one for that. I used the Denver Fever kit by Ginger Thibodeau at Digitals, here, brushes found at Adobe Studio Exchange here, and actions by Atomic Cupcake here. The font is Brad. Thanks for looking!
I am hosting an all new challenge at Digitals. We will be working on looking at digital scrapping from a slightly different perspective. We will be trying fresh new techniques, scrapping about unusual topics, and more. The first challenge is already in progress, so join me in the Branching Out forum to participate, and win this great prize piece. While you are there, be sure to participate in all the other great challenges and receive the other pieces of the Spring Cleaning Kit.
I have a very large mega kit for sale at Digitals. In addition to the kit, I have also created many alphas and add-ons to go with it. The theme of this kit is Tropical Sunshine, and it is great for all sorts of summery pages, vacation or beach pages, and much more. Come check it out!
